Copyright Terms
Syamilah: Journal of Islamic Studies adheres to a Copyright Policy to ensure the protection of authors' rights and the responsible dissemination of research findings. Please read the following information carefully regarding the copyright terms and licensing of articles published in Syamilah.
1. Copyright Transfer
- Once accepted for publication in Syamilah, the corresponding author is required to transfer the copyright of the accepted article to Syamilah.
- This copyright transfer agreement ensures that Syamilah has the right to publish, reproduce, distribute, and display the article in both print and electronic formats.
2. Authors’ Rights
- Authors retain certain rights to their work even after transferring copyright to Syamilah.
- Authors have the right to use their articles, in whole or in part, for non-commercial purposes, such as teaching, presentations, or sharing with colleagues.
- Authors may also include their articles in personal or institutional repositories, provided that appropriate credit is given to Syamilah as the original publisher.
3. Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC) License
- Syamilah publishes articles under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC) license.
- This means that published articles are freely available to the public and may be shared and distributed, as long as proper attribution is given to the original author.
- Users are permitted to copy, distribute, transmit, and adapt the published work for non-commercial purposes only, provided that they credit the author and provide a link to the original publication in Syamilah.
4. Third-Party Content
- Authors are responsible for obtaining the necessary permissions or approvals to use any copyrighted material from third parties (e.g., images, tables, or excerpts from other publications) in their article.
- Proper acknowledgment and citation of the original source are required for all third-party content used in the article..
5. Plagiarism and Copyright Infringement
- Syamilah takes plagiarism and copyright infringement very seriously.
- Authors are required to ensure that the manuscript they submit is original and does not infringe on the rights of others.
- If any copyright infringement or plagiarism is detected, appropriate action—including manuscript rejection or article retraction—will be taken in accordance with our Editorial Policy.
